Where are you located?

We are located in the newly renovated Stewart & Hemmet building in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane. We are the restaurant on the corner of Marshall and McLachlan St - Look out for our red sign! Our Address is 15 Marshall St, Fortitude Valley QLD 4006.


Bookings for 3 persons and under have a table reserved time of 1 hour and 45 mins. Groups of 4+ have a table reserved time of 2 hours. Please ensure that the table is vacated on time to accomodate guests joining us after.

Is there parking at the restaurant?

There is very limited street meter parking on Marshall Street, as well as further down McLachlan Street, however as it is a busy precinct, it can often be challenging to find a park.

What days are you open?

Wednesday - 5pm til late.

Thursday to Saturday - lunch from 12pm til 3pm, dinner 5pm til late.

Sunday - 12pm til 3:30pm.

How many people can I book in for?

For reservations between 1 - 6 people, you can book directly using our online booking system. For reservations of more than 6 people, please contact us at so we can accommodate you.

Do you take walk-ins?

We will do our best to fit you in, however, we strongly recommend booking in advance to secure your spot with us.

Do you offer function/event packages?

Please note that Short Grain accommodates regular bookings for up to 16 people. Anything above this is considered a private function, and requires the venue for hire. Please contact us at for all functions/events enquiries.

I have dietary requirements, can you accommodate?

Please include your dietary requirements in the notes section of your booking and we will do our best to accommodate. Please note, we may not be able to make changes to all dishes, especially with little to late notice.

Do you offer drinks packages?

Currently, we do not offer drinks packages. Please get in contact with us via email for all function/events enquiries.

Do you sell gift vouchers?

Absolutely! You can purchase a gift voucher here.
