Trained under legendary Thai chef David Thompson, then spent 13 years running Longrain, Best New Restaurant in its first year, and one of Australia's most awarded Thai kitchens for a generation after.

Now he's home. Nothing here is a shortcut, and you can taste it. Thirty years of getting it right, in every bite.

His Story
Man with stir fry

The room sits inside a heritage brick building from the 1890s, once a clothing factory, and later an Asian food store. We kept the bones of it: exposed brick, big windows, wooden tables that don't try too hard.

Short Grain

Tables stay simple until the food arrives; that's where the effort goes. Wine and drinks are picked to stand up to the spice, not hide from it. There's not much on the dessert menu, but the palm sugar caramel custard alone is worth leaving room for.
